Obituary of Adella C. Thompson
Adella C. Thompson, 74, of Gloversville, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2006. She was born in Gloversville on December 12, 1931, the daughter of the late Harold and Jennie Muddle.
She was educated in Gloversville schools and following this, became employed as a glove knitter, first for Continental Mills, and later, Johnstown Knitting Mill, until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of the Ida McGinnis Senior Citizens, and also of the Eagles, where she was a member for fifty years, and at one time served as president. She was a member of the Foothills United Methodist Church, and also enjoyed spending time at her camp in Caroga Lake.
Adella is survived by her son, Charles Linda Thompson of Gloversville, and by her daughter, Linda Leonard McLean of Little Falls. She is also survived by her special sister in law, June Muddle of Gloversville, and by ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Adella was predeceased by her husband, Charles H. Thompson, by her brother, William Muddle, her sister Dorcus Welcome, and by her twin sister Eleanor Malloy.
A visitation will be held for friends and family at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, from 4-7 on Sunday, August 27. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 28, at 11 am. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice House, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville.
