Obituary of Barbara A. Christman-Rustowski

Barbara A. Christman-Rustowski, 46, of Robb Road, Amsterdam, passed away Monday morning at her home in Amsterdam. Born in Amsterdam on June 10, 1960 a daughter of Clarence Hassfurter and Sharon Davis Gomula. Barbara was a life long resident of Amsterdam and was a graduate of Amsterdam High School Class of 1978. She was employed for several years at the Mt. Loretto Nursing home in Amsterdam and most recently worked for the Pine View Commons Adult Home in Johnstown as a Nurse?s Aide. Barbara cherished her family and her husband Jody, she enjoyed spending time with them and especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She married Jody Rostowski on July 8, 2006. In addition to her husband survivors include her mother, Sharon Davis Gomula and her stepfather, Robert Gomula of Florida; her father, Clarence Christman; one son, Arron Sowle and his wife Jessica of Gloversville, New York; one daughter, Samantha Frederick of Amsterdam; four brothers, Michael Hassfurter and fiancé Fran Zaikis of Schenectady, New York, Jeffrey Hassfurter and his wife Michelle of Amsterdam, Clarence Hassfurter and friend Ronald Palarmo of Rochester, New York, Donald Hassfurter of Amsterdam; three sisters, Jane Cabezas of Amsterdam, Paula Hassfurter of Amsterdam and Charlotte Ludwin and her husband Jason of Ft. Johnson, New York and two grandchildren, Arron and Blake Sowle of Gloversville, New York. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A Prayer Service will be held Wednesday evening this evening at 7:00P.M. at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friend prior to the service this evening beginning at 4:00P.M. at the funeral home.
