Obituary of Helen M. Alisauski
Helen Mitchell Alisauski, 81, of Truax Road, Amsterdam, passed away Monday morning at the St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam.
Born July 12, 1925 in Amsterdam, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Alikonis Miciulis. She was a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School Class of 1943.
Helen was employed at the L & E Laundry in Amsterdam for 23 years.
She was a communicant of St. Casimir?s Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Sir William Johnson Seniors.
Helen enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens and loved knitting, canning, sewing and working on crafts. She loved to mow her lawn on her tractor and she spent a lot of time on the family?s genealogy and taking pictures of her family. In her early years she loved roller-skating, square dancing and camping on Sacandaga. In recent years, she loved to travel.
On October 22, 1944, she married Sylvester Alisauski, who passed away September 24, 2002. She is survived by her loving family; Daniel Alisauski and his wife Lucille of Ballston Spa; Daryl Alisauski and his wife Michelle of Broadalbin; David Alisauski of New York City, and Duane Alisauski and his wife Teddie of Amsterdam, a daughter; Dale Pasquariello and her husband Ronald of Broadalbin; a sister, Estelle Meilunas of Fort Johnson, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 8:30 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, New York followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be Celebrated at 9:30 am at St. Casimir?s Roman Catholic Church, East Main Street, Amsterdam, with the Rev. Stanley Swierowski as Celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Casimir?s Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
