Obituary of Bernhardt E. Frank
Bernhardt E. ?Ben? Frank, 87, of West Side Manor, Rochester, NY, formerly a resident of Amsterdam, NY, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Park Ridge Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on December 12, 1918 a son of Bernhardt and Anna Ruback Frank. He was a life long resident of Amsterdam until moving to Florida in 1991 and then to Rochester in 1995. He attended Amsterdam schools.
Mr. Frank was a Foreman in the Gas Department for over 35 years at Niagara Mohawk Power Company in Amsterdam before retiring on December 31, 1980.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II serving in Europe in the 8th Air Force. He was a 25 year Member of the Niagara Mohawk Club and Senior Citizens. He was also a past member of the John J. Wyszomirski Post #701 in Amsterdam and a member of the former St. Joseph?s Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. While in Rochester he was a member of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church in Greece, NY.
He married Mercelia Harrigan Frank on May 29, 1941. She passed away on October 21, 1997. He is survived by three daughters, Karen Mullarkey and her husband Bill of Amsterdam, Dale Carney and her husband Jack of Tennessee, and Ann Amy and her husband Jim of Greece, NY. Eight Grandchildren, eight Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 23, 2006 at 8:45A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30A.M. at St. Mary?s Roman Catholic Church, Main St. Amsterdam. Interment will be in St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday September 22, 2006 from 6:00-8:00P.M at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Montgomery County Unit, 260 Osborne Rd, Loudonville, NY 12211.
