Obituary of Evelyn Sanzo

Miss. Evelyn Sanzo, 87, of Gloversville, passed away on Wednesday October 11, 2006. Born in Gloversville on August 20, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Michalina Sanzo. She was a graduate of Gloversville High School, and following this, attended SUNY Potsdam, before transferring to SUNY New Paltz to complete her education. For many years, she was employed as a secretary for General Electric. She was also an active member of the North Main St. United Methodist Church. An avid lover of animals, Miss Sanzo was also an enthusiast of travel, music and dance. She also regularly enjoyed lunch outings in the company of a loyal group of friends, companions for over 60 years. She is survived by her brother Richard Sanzo of Garden City, Long Island, her sister Florence McClure of California, as well as her eight nieces and nephews, James O?Brien, Kathy Sturtevant, Jeanne Morris, Eileen Sanzo, Richard Sanzo, John Sanzo, Paul Sanzo and Jerome Sanzo. Miss Sanzo is predeceased by her sister Blanche Sanzo. A visitation will be held for family and friends from 10 am to 12 pm Tuesday, October 17 at the Walrath and Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street Gloversville. Funeral services will be held at 12 pm following the visitation, with the Reverend Christopher Hamm officiating. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville. Contributions may be made in Miss. Sanzo?s memory to a charity of choice.
