Obituary of Thelma C. Low
Thelma C. Low, 91, formerly of Otsego Street, Canajoharie, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning at Palatine Nursing Home.
Born on May 22, 1915 in Sharon Springs she was the daughter of Emmett and Grace Best Collins. She was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools.
Mrs. Low was a homemaker and an active member of the United Methodist Church. In her early years she worked in the cafeteria at the central school in Sharon Springs.
On February 11, 1960 she was united in marriage to Peter Low. That union lasted 21 years, until his death on June 10, 1981. She was also predeceased by six sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include her two sisters, Bernice Putnam of Sharon Springs, New York and Betty Martin and her husband Ted of Mesa, Arizona, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 11a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 50 E. Main Street, Canajoharie, with the Rev. Scott R. Tyler officiating. Interment will take place in the Sharon cemetery, Leesville. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10 until 11 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie.
