Obituary of Louie Beatrice Levandosky
Mrs. Louie Beatrice Levandosky, 82 years old of Woodrow Road, died Tuesday at Montgomery Meadows where she had been a patient for the past year. She was born December 30, 1923 in Amsterdam, a daughter of Arthur and Mabel Morley Cook. Mrs. Levandosky was a graduate of the former Wilber H. Lynch High School, class of 1941, and a life long resident of Amsterdam. She worked for the former Mohawk Carpet Mills in the office of production and planning until 1949. Mrs. Levandosky also was employed by Amsterdam Printing Co. and by Mohawk Finishing. She was a communicant of St. Ann?s Episcopal Church and had been a member of the former Mohawk Mills Ladies Choral Club and had coached in the Girl?s Cinderella Softball League.
On June 14, 1947 she married Edward J. Levandosky who died August 23, 2005. She is survived by her son, John E. Levandosky and his wife Judy of Amsterdam; her daughters, Doreen Dodd and her husband Richard of Webster, NY and Carol Phillis and her husband David of Broadalbin, NY; 3 brothers, David Cook of Greensboro, N.C., Ralph Cook of Amsterdam and John Cook of Rotterdam and her sister Muriel Papura of Amsterdam. Seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren also survive.
The Office for the Burial of the Dead will be read and Holy Eucharist celebrated by the Rev. Christopher A. Smith on Friday at 10:00am at St. Ann?s Episcopal Church, 37 Division Street, Amsterdam. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5 until 7:00pm at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home.
