Obituary of Nellie J. Tambasco
Nellie J. LaMori Tambasco, 85, formerly of Division Street, passed away Thursday noon at the Mt. Loretto Nursing Home after a long illness.Born in Amsterdam on July 2, 1921, she was the last surviving child of Anthony and Jennie Ciccarino LaMori. She attended local schools and was employed for many years as a glove maker for various local companies.She retired in 1983 from Jean?s Glove Shop in Amsterdam.Nellie was a lifelong communicant of St. Michael The Archangel Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Santa Sofia Society.She will always be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and dear friend.On June 22, 1947 she was united in marriage to Florenzo Tambasco.In addition to her beloved husband, she leaves her children,Andy and his wife Joan Tambasco of Amsterdam, and Frances and her husband Jim Scancarello of Potsdam, New York; her grandchildren, Anthony and Angela Tambasco and Michael Scancarello, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.Nellie was predeceased by her brothers, Patrick and Vincent ?Jim? and Dominick LaMori and sisters, Kate Morabito and Maggie Heaton.Services are Monday at 10:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Michael the Archangel Church;Fr. Lawrence J. Decker, pastor, will celebrate. Interment is in St Mary?s Cemetery, Ft. Johnson. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-6 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Nellie?s memory to the Mt. Loretto Nursing Home, in care of the funeral home. Her family is deeply grateful for the wonderful care she received there and especially thanks the entire fourth floor staff.
