Obituary of Phalen L. Fox
Mr. Phalen L. Fox, 74 years old of Indian Road, died Saturday at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. He was born November 16, 1931 in the Town of Mohawk, a son of William and Georgia Hayes Fox, and was a life long resident of the Town of Mohawk. Mr. Fox was a self-employed farmer his whole life and was of the protestant faith. Mr. Fox was a founding member of the Ephrata Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed tractor pulling at the Fonda Fair. He is survived by four brothers, William Fox and his wife Louise of Johnstown, Robert A. Fox of Pulaski, Oscar Fox and his wife Norma of Ft. Plain and Gerald Fox and his wife Shirley of Amsterdam; two sisters, Jane Scott of Clay and Viola Ostrander of Mayfield; his special friends; Donna and Tim Wilmot and their family, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Fox was predeceased by a sister, Ida Frederick, and two brothers, Frank and Stanley Fox.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Tuesday at Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, with The Rev. R.W. Williams officiating. Burial is in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 noon until 1:00pm at the funeral home.
