Obituary of Eleanor C. Minch
Eleanor C. ?Peanuts? Minch, 57, of County Highway 110, Broadalbin, passed away unexpectedly late Sunday afternoon at the Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.
Born October 28, 1948, in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of Freida Hassenfuss Yurgans and the late Theodore Yurgans. She was a lifelong Broadalbin resident and a graduate of the Broadalbin High School Class of 1966.
Eleanor loved working for over 20 years as a tax preparer for the H&R Block in Gloversville. She was a member and Charter member of the Broadalbin Volunteer Ambulance Corps for 25 years. She was a past member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran in Amsterdam.
Eleanor played softball in high school and later served as a line coach for the Broadalbin Volunteer Youth Commission Softball League from 1996 to 2000. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, cards and watching Texas Hold?em tournaments on TV.
On August 28, 1971, she married Stuart F. Minch. Besides her husband survivors include a son; Eric D. Minch of Broadalbin; a daughter, Kristin P. Minch of Broadalbin; her mother Freida Yurgans of Broadalbin; three brothers; Harry Yurgans of Port St. Luce, Florida, Charles Yurgans of Fultonville, Donald Yurgans of Chino Hills, CA; a granddaughter, Star Mallika Minch-Merrill of Lake El Sinore, CA; two brother-in-laws, James Minch and his wife Debbie and Roger W. Minch, Jr.; Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
