In this time of loss and sadness, may your hearts be filled with wonderful memories. Uncle Pete was the grandfather I never had! I have such fond memories of him. I will never forgot the many trips he made to our house, coming in the back door with doughnuts in hand. All the Saturday nights he and Aunt Veda would come down to visit after church. We sat there watching Treasure Hunt and then ate dessert. Or all the wonderful times spent at his home on Perth Road. Sunday afternoons playing Michigan Rummy or Rummy 500. Or holiday dinners at my parents or Donna & Craig's. Everyone always eating too much but then spending hours playing cards before we could have dessert. This Thanksgiving will not be the same without him. I have fond memories of helping him in his garden, picking apples with him, bailing hay, or just going out to feed the cows with him. And of course the fact that he would always "house" the animals we couldn't keep in the city on Vrooman Ave. There was my pony "Missy" and the 3 bunnies Donna, Patti, and I received for Easter one year. Only to have them multiple many times over and fill Uncle Pete's barn. And those little ducklings that we came across after their mom was hit by a car. Uncle Pete will greatly be missed. He will always have a special place in my heart. I love him and will never forget what a great uncle he was. May it help to know that he will never be forgotten by those whose lives he touched. And may your own cherished memories bring you comfort and peace.
With sympathy, prayers, and love,
Karen

Dear Aunt Vita and Family, as people grow old their responsibilities seem to be extended. I remember the most important things through a period of my life that I will never forget and still comes up in conversations I always have with family and friends. Is the years where it was most important for me to visit the farm and drive the tractors, and snooping for trouble in the barn. Those years and memories were the most memorable and enjoyable times in my life growing up. I Love You, Aunt Vita and Uncle Pete for that and will always have you in my thoughts and prayers. Please accept my Love and Support for the loss of our amazing Uncle Pete.
Our Love,
Todd, Lena, Vincent, Angelina Midas and Family

Aunt Elvira,Al,Rich, and Ron: Susan and I are deeply sadden by your loss. We are thankful that we got to spend some time with Uncle Pete last Thursday.
I will always remember our family picnics on Perth Road growing up.I also remember a mean rooster that we had trapped in our garage in Galway. We gave it to Uncle Pete for a pet and he named him Cocky-Locky. The rooster made the mistake of attacking Uncle Pete one time. End of Cocky-Locky!!
Uncle Pete will be deeply missed by all.

To Vita and family, I send my sincere condolences as Peter has passed. I took care of him at the nursing home for many years getting to know Peter and many of your family members. You all deserve a great hand in all that you have done for Peter. He was a great man. His laughter, jokes and smile will never be forgotten. As Peter looks down at you all in heaven, he is thanking you all and loving each and every one of you. Thank you for allowing me to know Mr. Peter DiCaprio.

To Elvera and family, what can I say..this is a terrible loss. I have so many fond memories of growing up with all of you and sharing so many wonderful times with both our families present. When you lived across our backyard on Vrooman Avenue and again when you made the move to Perth, we were together often. I will remember all of these things fondly. My deepest sympathy to you all.

Aunt Alveda, Al, Rich, and Ron: Dana and I are so sorry for your loss. Many mornings I would look out the window and see Uncle Pete. His white pickup truck would be parked on the hill facing the valley. Puffs of cigar smoke could be seen coming out of the driver?s side window.
In November, when deer hunting season opened, Uncle Pete would be parked there at daybreak. As the hunters would "drive out" the deer, he would be "on watch" to report to the hunters which direction the deer were heading.
Though it has been many years since that white truck has been parked on the hill, those will always be my memories of Uncle Pete. May he rest in peace.

Aunt Veda, Alfred, Rich & Ron: I am sorry for your loss. Uncle Pete was so cheerful and always smiling. My fondest memories were going to Perth and climbing over the fence to the cow fields and picking dandelion flowers for making wine and visiting the chicken coop for fresh eggs. On the way to our camp, we would stop by for the yellow sweet corn he would grow. Now, he is with his mother, father, sisters and brother. We will truly miss him. Love, Joana

Dearest Sister-In-Law Elvira, Nephews Alfred, Richard & Ron: So sorry we lost our beloved Peter. When I left him in August, I told him I would see him next year. I guess he was ready for the Pearly Gates. I remember the fun in the garden and him buying me a pair of high rubber boots so I would not get my shoes dirty. Many years ago, when he was down the beach in FL we sat on the park bench and watched the men grapes and the women grapefruits as they walked by. My latest memory was embarassing him with my mouse tatoo. He will be forever missed. Love, Sister Mary

Aunt Veda, Alfred, Richie, Ronnie & family: John & I are deeply sadden by the loss of Uncle Pete. He was a wonderful person who had a wonderful family. Today, I reflected upon some of the best memories we shared. The trips to Perth for family picnics, his visits to Florida, but especially the way he used to rub his beard on my cheeks when we kissed hello and goodbye. He gave so much of himself to each and everyone of us. I'm thankful that I had a chance to visit with him last Saturday if only for a short time. He will be deeply missed by all. God Bless all of you at this very sad time. Love, Sue & John
