What a wonderful neighbor. I visited her two Summers ago in Amsterdam...what a treat it was. We talked about our beautiful lives and those who meant so much to us. My parents and wife must have been very happy to greet her in heaven.

Edwin and Amy Shuttleworth were my husband's parents and Maybelle lived next door. They were all close friends and I always admired Maybelle for her intelligence and warm friendship. She loved her family so! Ed and I are sad to hear of her passing. Peggy

I am the granddaughter of Jim and Rhea McGibbon. My grandparents were very good friends with Maybelle and Bill for many, many years. I know they shared many happy times and occasions together. As a child and as an adult, I loved hearing the wonderful stories my Grandmother would tell about her life experiences . . and Maybelle was such an integral part of her life. So please accept my sincere condolences at the loss of someone so dear.

Our favorite Aunt is gone! We have so many wonderful memories of Uncle Bill and Aunt Maybelle. Aunt Maybelle entertained us when we were little, as well as our kids and grandchildren. She loved life and taught us how to love it as well.
I can remember many trips to the Beach in the Adirondacks, popcorn and movies at her camp, and our kids do also.
I remember asking Uncle Bill why he and my Grandfather loved to bulldoze big boulders out of the mountain all day, and Uncle Bill just saying how much fun it was, and he knew we would all be having fun with Aunt Maybelle at the Beach, so we didn't have to worry about working on our vacation. We spent so many hours with them and their family growing up. What a fantastic time that was.
Aunt Maybell would always have advice for us, which was always good. She always encouraged us to look at life as if the glass was half full, never half empty.
We will miss her so much. Our thoughts are with her family now.
Love,
The Wolter Family.

I have so many fond memories of Aunt Maybelle. After Gram passed away, I would spend hours and hours talking with her up at camp. She helped me through so much when I was younger and was always there when I needed her most. She, and her zest for life, will be greatly missed. She will always hold a special place in my heart!

I will never forget spending time in Speculator during the summers growing up. We would go to Aunt Maybelle's house looking for cookies and things to do. She will be missed!!

Tom,
I am thinking of you, my friend, and sending thoughts and prayers your way. Your mother was quite a gal, and I fondly remember many meetings with her during our "performing days" on The AHS Stage. I know that she will be missed. May memories give you peace and good days ahead. Bill and I are thinking of you and of your family at this time.
Warmly,
Jennifer Hartigan Ziskin

To Maybelle's children, grandchildren, and our community.
Maybelle was a dedicated GFWC Century Club member for over 65 years. We have lost a dear friend but she has left many wonderful memories. She loved to share her trip to Korea which was so interesting for my family.
Her spirit for living and giving will live on as a testiment of her life among us.
