Dear Uncle Carmen,
I was so sorry to hear that Aunt Mary Jane didn't win her battle.She has been on my mind and regretably didn't receive my card in time to know that she was in my prayers. I have so many memories of her- the weekly Sunday gatherings at Grandma's house, the holiday dinners that we all shared together at your house, summers at the camps in Galway with all the other members of our family and of course, her marvelous baking abilities. She shared her love of baking with so many of her nieces and nephews through those marvelous lemon cookies and her pepper biscuits. I was being truthful when I mentioned that Meaghan wanted to learn how to make them from her. Her talent to bake was infectious. I'm so sorry that I can't be there to say goodbye so I'm planning on going to mass here in the morning and offering my prayers for her soul here.I will light a candle for her and relect on the goodness that she brought into my life simply by being my aunt.
