Obituary of Frederick J. Smith

Frederick J. Smith, 49, of Barclay Street, Canajoharie, New York, loving father of Emily and Andrew Smith, died unexpectedly at home on November 5, 2006. Aside from his children, Mr. Smith is survived by his mother, Edna Smith of Oswego; his former wife, Susan Smith of Canajoharie; three sisters, Patricia Zagers and her husband Daniel of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Margaret Kocher and her husband David of Easley, South Carolina, Mary Smith of Oswego, New York; two brothers, Michael Smith and his wife Lorraine, and Dennis Smith and his wife Karen, all of Oswego, New York; his aunt, Mary Driscoll of Syracuse, New York and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Fred was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation as an engineer. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2006 at 11am at the Dowdle Funeral Home, East 4th Street, Oswego, New York, 13126. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 4 until 7 at the funeral home. Interment will take place in St. Paul's Cemetery in Oswego at a later date. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2006 at 2pm at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, New York, 13317.
