Obituary of Jane Murray Savage
Jane Murray Savage, formerly of Highlands, North Carolina and Nashville, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Wesley Health Care Center following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer?s disease. She was 90 years old.
Mrs. Savage was born on January 29, 1916 in Nashville, Tennesse, to the late James Henry and Jimetta Oakley Murray, and was sister to the late James Henry Murray, Jr. She was a graduate of Hume Fogg High School and George Peabody College, both in Nashville.
She was a scholar, a dancer, an actress and a published writer; one who always lived in her own wonderful world. If you were to look back on her life, you would realize that Jane always lived in a place that was far beyond where we are.
Widow of the late John Moore Savage, mother to daughters, Linda Jane Jones of Greenville, South Carolina, and Deborah Genevieve Savage of Saratoga Springs, and grandmother to Megan Elizabeth Oxidine-Savage of Saratoga Springs, Catherine Lynn Tenbrunsel, Michael Robert Tenbrunsel, and John Heistand Pamplin, Jr., all of Atlanta, Georgia.
In addition, Jane is survived by brother-in-law, Thomas Arnold Savage, Jr., of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, nieces, Nancy Murray of Charlotte, North Carolina, Carol Rogers and Patricia Savage, both of Adairville, Kentucky, Patricia Jones of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and nephew, Steve Murray of Little Rock, Arkansas.
A celebration of Jane?s life will be held at a later date in Highlands, North Carolina.
