Obituary of Henriette D. Brownell

Henriette ?Hank? D. Brownell, 89, of Meadow St., Tribes Hill, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2006 at the Wilkinson Center with her loving family by her side. She was born in Fort Hunter, NY March 17, 1917 a daughter of the late Henry and Josephine Sleasman Dufel. Henriette was a lifetime resident of Tribes Hill. She married Samuel Brownell on March 18, 1935. He predeceased her on December 25, 1988. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Tribes Hill, serving as the church organist many years ago. She was a homemaker as well as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Survivors include sons, Gareth F. Noreen Brownell of Tribes Hill, and David S. Karen Brownell of Amsterdam; daughters, Mary Jo Richard Brunette of Webster, NY, and Linda David Werner of Amsterdam; grandchildren, Michael, Eric, Alex, and Sarah Ahimsa, Mark and Jenna Brunette, and Ashley Werner; a great-granddaughter, Emily Campeas; brothers, Earl Dufel of Tribes Hill and Robert Dufel of Amsterdam, a sister, Jean Rohde of Paradise, CA also survives her. Besides her husband, Henriette was predeceased by a daughter, Sheila Jo Brookman, and brothers, Fred and Raymond Dufel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00am Wednesday, at Sacred Heart Church in Tribes Hill. Burial is in Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5 until 7:00pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
