To Joe's family: The shock will eventually wear off, and then "comes the morning" - knowing that your Dad left to a great place where he most likely was greeted by his Dad Uncle Joe, Papa VanWie, my husband David and other relatives. I will miss Joe personally; he alwasy kept us up-to-date on the Van Wie families via the internet. It's a loss that seems unbearable, but the time will come when you can just smile when you think of him of say his name. Although we've never personally met, I feel like I know you from the photos you Dad sent on his emails. Please don't forget your family in Texas; we are with you in spirit, and Mom Aunt Betty to Joe and the rest of us need to know how the VanWie's are doing. God Bless. Maria

Dad,
You were taken from me on the morning of 11-21-06. I just arrived to watch my niece and as I got out of my tuck Gavac and the Ambulance went flying by. The speed they were going I knew it was bad. I went into my sisters house and she got a phone call from my brother to get over there it was dad. I look outside and the Ambulance and Gavac that went flying by was in my parents driveway....my heart sunk and felt sick. I saw them bring you out and I knew in my heart that you already were in Heaven, we went to the hospital and then the Nun came to me and asked if I knew Joseph Van Wie me and how. I said without thinking ?This isn't good if you are here? Then the doctor came with the news we didn't want to hear.We were all in Shock and I could not believe that you were never coming home. I would see you 2 to 3 times a week and if I didn't I would call and we would talk and talk and now I don't have that anymore. Whenever I had a problem with my truck you were the first I would call. You were SOOO talented and smart. You always had a smile on your face. I was so scared when this day would come and now i'm lost. I love and miss you so much Dad
Love Sherri
