Obituary of Hilda P. Gordon
Hilda P. Gordon, 89, of Cliff Street, Canajoharie, New York died Wednesday at Albany Medical Center.
Born on January 13, 1917 in the Town of Charleston she was the daughter of the late Jay and Frances Cole Putman. She was a lifelong area resident and attended Canajoharie High School.
Mrs. Gordon was employed for several years for Beech-Nut Nutrition in Canajoharie. She was also an active member in her church, the United Methodist Church of Canajoharie.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet Kilmer and her husband Ben of Syracuse; five grandchildren, Paul and David Horning, Cheryl Hodge, Sandra Skarbek and Michelle Wegman; 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gordon was predeceased by her husband, George Gordon, a daughter Shirley Barnes, a grandson, Jeffrey Horning and several sisters and brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1p.m. at the United Methodist Church on Church Street in Canajoharie with the Rev. Scott R. Tyler presiding. Private interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Sandflats, Fonda. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 11 until 1 at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie.
