Obituary of Pauline M. Handy
Mrs. Pauline M. Burlett Handy, age 68, of Gloversville, died Wednesday morning, December 6, 2006 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, where she has resided the past twelve years.
Pauline was born on December 8, 1937 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Abraham and Helen Wagner Burlett. A graduate of Gloversville High School, she was employed at the Johnstown Knitting Mill and at Crown Leather Company. She also sold Avon products.
Mrs. Handy was a member of Foothills United Methodist Church, Gloversville. Prior to her long illness, Pauline was always there to help any family member, friend, or anyone else in a time need.
Pauline was married on December 7, 1958 to Robert J. Handy who died March 14, 2002.
She is survived by three siblings, Rose M. Young Frank C., Garfield W. Burlett Claudia and Frank D. Burlett, all of Gloversville. She is also survived by five nieces and nephews, Toni Vincent, Bill Burlett Jr; Jennifer Crosier, Matthew Burlett and Jesica Lynn Miller; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 3 to 4 pm Friday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 4 pm with the Rev. Wayne E. Jones Sr. officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foothills United Methodist Church, 17 Fremont St; Gloversville, NY 12078.
