Obituary of Miguelina Garcia
Born December 23, 1924, in Sam Pedro Macoris, Dominican Republic. She was the daughter of the late Westley and Isolina Wilson Samson. She attended schools in the Dominican Republic and moved to White Plains, New York in 1966. She later moved to Amsterdam in 1980. For the past two years she has lived in Post Texas. Most recently moving back to Amsterdam.
Miguelina was employed at the Saint Agnes Hospital in White Plains, New York for fifteen years.
She loved to cook, Preach the Gospel and spend time with her loving family. She served as a Minister and member of the Church of God of Prophecy in White Plains and Amsterdam.
In 1949 she married Thenard A. Cabo, who died in 1963. She was also predeceased by a daughter Zoraida Gomez who died in 1972.
Survivors include a son, Thenard A. Cabo, Jr. of White Plains, New York; two daughters, Felicia Payano of Post Texas and Doris E. King of Amsterdam, New York; two sisters, Josephine Samson of White Plains, New York and a sister who lives in the Dominican Republic; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, at 11:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. Jose Payno, Rev. Louis King, and Rev. Rubin Hanns officiating. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
