Obituary of Genevieve Babrowicz

Genevieve Babrowicz, 78, of North College St., Schenectady, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at her home. Born in Amsterdam, NY on August 30, 1928 a daughter of John and Mikalina Babrowicz. She was a resident of the Amsterdam area for many years until moving to the Schenectady area. She worked for a time as the Shop Steward for Abelove?s Service Linen in Schenectady. She retired from the Coin Laundry Co. of Schenectady in 1990. Mrs. Babrowicz was of the Roman Catholic Faith. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was an avid collector of Teddy Bears. Genevieve is survived by two daughters, Theresa Palkovic of Schenectady and Jo-An Palmer and her husband Keith of Schenectady, NY; one brother, Joseph Babrowicz of Amsterdam; two sisters, Veronica Epting of Albany, NY and Bridget Palkovic of Ft. Johnson, NY and four grandchildren, Amy Devito, Richard Palmer, Christopher Foster and Sherri Famiano. Great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was pre-deceased by a brother, John Babrowicz. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 11:00AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Father Stan Swierzowski presiding. Interment is in St. Casimir?s Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 10:00AM at the funeral home.
