Obituary of John N. Buyce

Mr. John N. Buyce Jr. 84 of Broadalbin passed away January 3, 2007. Mr. Buyce was born July 27, 1922 in Gloversville, son of the late John N. and Mildred Simons Buyce. He was a graduate of Broadalbin High School and employed as a machinist at the former Continental Mills for more than 40 years. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling in the family motor home. Mr. Buyce was an Army veteran of WW Two, and a past member of the VFW in Gloversville and the DAV. He was also a member and past Chief of the Berkshire Fire Dept. He is survived by his wife Hilda B. Goodemote Buyce of Broadalbin whom he married May 29, 1949. He is also survived by two daughters; Donna Kenney of Amsterdam and Susan Phillip Scriven of Columbia City, Indiana. One sister also survives; Eleanor Overnand of Broadalbin and a grandchild; Jason J. Holly Malik and a great grandchild; Savanah J. Malik, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Buyce was pre-deceased by a brother; Donald Buyce, a sister; Bernadine Czelusniak and a son-in-law Robert Kenney. A memorial service will be held 1 pm Saturday from the Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main Street Broadalbin with Reverend Linda Martin officiating. Urn burial in Broadalbin Cemetery will take place at the convenience of his family.
