Obituary of Virginia Chakmakian

Virginia Chakmakian, 81, formerly of Gloversville, NY, passed away on January 5, 2007 in Benson, NC. Born January 12, 1925, in Kingston, NY; she resided in Gloversville until June, 2005 when she moved to Oswego, NY. She is remembered as a loving, generous and giving person, with a great sense of humor. She is predeceased by her son, Nicholas Chakmakian, and her husband of 40 years, Hachadour Chakmakian. She is survived by her son, George Chakmakian June of Tega Cay, SC; and her two daughters, Pierette VanWie Robert of Chittenango, NY and Donna Ryder Skip Hulland of Clayton, NC. She has 8 grandchildren, Duane Ryder III, Teresa VanWie, Christine Brown, Cynthia Tasseff, Robert VanWie, Nicholas Chakmakian, Elizabeth VanWie, and Stephanie Rinaldi. She has 5 great grandchildren, Makaila Lynn, Lorelei, Preston, Cara Marie, and Cooper. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 31 Spring St; Gloversville. The Rev. Kevin Jones will officiate. Urn Burial will take place in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of your choice in honor of Virginia.
