Obituary of Rosemary Philp
Rosemary Philp, 77, of Wally Road, passed away early Wednesday morning at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Syracuse.
Born in Ballston Spa, New York on January 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late West and Olive I. Sleezer Partidge. She lived in Tribes Hill for a time and was employed in her husband?s family business, the former Mohawk Lodge in Fort Johnson, which they ran for ten years, until 1958. In 1962 they relocated to Syracuse, where she assisted her husband in the operation of the Alston School of Photography until they retired in 1986. Mrs. Philp was a former member of the Art-Wel Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the former Ft. Johnson Methodist Church, the Tribes Hill Presbyterian Church and had also attended the Broadalbin Presbyterian Church. She was an avid collector of antiques and glassware.
On June 12, 1949 she was united in marriage to Marvin ?Vern? Philp.
In addition to her beloved husband, she leaves her children,
Harold Walter Rosalind Rodriguez Philp of Liverpool, NY and Jeffrey Vern Philp of North Syracuse; her granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Philp and her great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Rosalind Layou.
Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A sister, Beverly Shear, predeceased her.
Services are Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Interment is in the Broadalbin Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home.
