Obituary of George Patrick Young

George Patrick Young, 80, of Prospect Street, Amsterdam, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital with his family by his side. George and his wife Joan Young were married October 27, 1945 in Island Park, NY. George served in the US Navy and is a veteran of WWII. George is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Joan Young and his four daughters, Donna Santangelo of Johnstown, Barbara Moltrup of Sprakers, Norma Jean Szabo of St. Johnsville and Karen Ann Young of Amsterdam. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Bates and Ruth Farnand and one brother, Charles Young. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 20 at the Cranesville Reformed Church, Amsterdam, NY. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in loving memory of George Patrick Young to the Cranesville Reformed Church, Amsterdam, NY, 12010, and/or Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.
