Obituary of Mina L. Young

Mrs. Mina L. Brooks Young, age 81, formerly of Bleecker, died Sunday evening, January 21, 2007 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, where she had resided the past three years. She was born on June 3, 1925 in the town of Glen, NY, the daughter of the late William and Ada Dutcher Brooks. Mina was employed for many years at the former Decca Record Company, and later worked for 15 years at the Fulton County Infirmary as a housekeeper, retiring in 1984. Mina was married on May 18, 1945 to Raymond Young who died November 24, 1978. She is survived by two sons, Arthur R. Young Jill of the town of Glen and Robert G. Young Karen of Bleecker; three grandchildren, Robert J. Young, Tammy S. Young and Russell J. Young; several nieces, nephews, cousins, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Harley, James and Wilbur Brooks. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6pm Tuesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville. A private service will take place at the convenience of the family at Bleecker Cemetery, Bleecker. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the charity of your choice.
