Obituary of Doris Thompson

Doris ?Betty? Thompson, 75, passed away on Tuesday January, 30 2007. She was born in Broadalbin on May 4, 1931, the daughter of the late Ralph and Bertha Eaton Coloney. She was educated in Broadalbin schools, and following this, worked at the family?s business, Atomic General Store in Mayfield. Later, she operated Heatherlyn Gifts at the same location until her retirement seven years ago. Doris enjoyed crafts and home decorating, and was particularly fond of rug hooking. Doris is survived by her daughter Heather Thompson of Saco, Maine, by her brother Jack Coloney of Gloversville, as well as by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Donald R. Thompson, and by her brothers Ralph Coloney Jr. and Robert Coloney. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice House for their wonderful, dedicated care. A visitation will be held for friends and family on Friday, February 2, from 6-8 pm at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home 51 Fremont Street Gloversville, NY 12078. Burial will take place in the spring at Broadalbin Mayfield Rural Cemetery.
