Obituary of Donald F. Freeman
Donald F. Freeman, 80, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. He was born in Gloversville on July 23, 1926 the son of the late Merlin J. and Susan E. Suits Freeman.
Donald attended high school at GHS and enjoyed their sports. He was particular to GHS Football. He worked as one of the earliest TV repairmen from the ?50?s and worked in his family operated store ?Freeman?s Radio and TV?. He also worked in his father?s grocery store on West Fulton St.
He loved to watch baseball, enjoyed fishing and the outdoors and always looked forward to traveling. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Survivors include his wife, Caroline Fountain Freeman; a son, Zachary Fountain Freeman; a daughter, Diane L. Sardella, all of Gloversville; two grandchildren, Michelle and John Sardella; four great grandchildren, Tatum, Payton, Brock and Larkin Sardella and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brother Raymond Freeman, his sister, Marilyn Goodemote and a great granddaughter, Lindsay Lucas.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 14, from 11am-12 noon at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home 51 Fremont Street Gloversville, NY 12078. A funeral service will follow visitation at 12 PM. Burial will take place in Prospect Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd, Loudonville, NY 12211.
