Obituary of Anthony J. Morreale
Mr. Anthony J. Morreale, 64 years old of Center Street, died Saturday at St. Mary?s Hospital. Mr. Morreale was born December 21, 1942 in Amsterdam, a son of Samuel and Clementine Iannotti Morreale and was a life long resident of Amsterdam. He served with the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Mr. Morreale was employed as a welder by the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, retiring in July of 1998.
He was a communicant of St. Mary?s Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Morreale was a member of the Southside Veteran?s, the County Line Hunting Camp and the GE Quarter Century Club. He loved hunting and fishing, cooking for family and friends and his rose garden.
On November 20, 1965 he married the former Louise Mary Miller who survives. Also surviving are his two daughters; Elizabeth John Barker of Amsterdam and Christine Tessiero also of Amsterdam, two brothers; John Barbara Morreale of Amsterdam and Richard Morreale of Broadalbin, his sister; Concetta Francis Zevola, six grandchildren; David, Bryan, Lauryn, Brandon, Cassandra and Brent. Mr. Morreale is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed very much by his faithful dog, Max.
Funeral services will be held 8:15 am Tuesday at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed at 9:15 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary?s Church. Cremation will follow at Vale Crematory. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 until 8:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
