Elizabeth ?Betty? Duffy Robusto, 80, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away Wednesday afternoon in Rochester, NY following a battle with multiple myeloma.
Born in Ballston Spa, NY on June 30, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Kiley Duffy. She was a graduate of Ballston Spa High School and St. Mary?s School of Nursing in Amsterdam. Betty also went on to Hague Maternity School in Jersey City, NJ where she completed her grad work.
Following graduation, Betty returned to Amsterdam where she was appointed head of the Maternity Ward at St. Mary?s Hospital. In September of 1952, she was united in marriage to William D. The couple resided in West Hartford for over 20 years, where Betty was employed as a nursing supervisor for the West Hartford Manor. In 2002 the couple moved back to upstate New York to enjoy their retirement and to be closer to their family.
Betty enjoyed bridge, bowling, community fundraising and found time for traveling with friends. She was also a parishioner of St. Mark?s Roman Catholic Church in Rochester.
