So saddened by your loss. I have a lot of charished memorie. I remember the night before her wedding I sat up in bed most of the night painting rice to throw at the newly weds, I wanted it to be pretty. I'll never forget her chocolate mayonnaise cake. My life is almost an imitation of her's. I,too, had many foster children, adopeted two children, and I enjoy crocheting. I know Bertha is now rejoyicing with angels in the presence of Jesus. Our love and prayers go out to Jack and her children. Love, Diane, Dan, Therese, and Rebeckah Modeen

Will miss seeing her at the gas ups sitting at the camper knitting.
She always remembered my family and enjoyed a chat. Even when her health was poor her spirit was good.
I am very sorry for your loss.

Dear Jack,
So sorry to hear about Bertha. My thoughts and prayers are with you. This is Kathryn, the girl who used to come to physical therapy at the Wells House Mon and Wed mornings and you used to help when I'd get up to walk and you'd push my wheelchair.
Just to remind you, I live in Caroga Lake and you usually see me at the Wells House with my aide, Terry.
Take care, Jack...Kathryn

Debbie, Jack, Charlie, and all the grandchildren....My prayers are with you all in this time of sorrow. Bertha will be dearly missed by many. Bertha has touched the hearts of many people, I know I am one of them. She helped me by taking care of my sons while I worked for many years. She was there for me many times throughout my life. We shared a common love for our precious granddaughter, Shawna. Bertha was a pillar of strength, a shoulder to lean on, a friend to confide in, she was a woman with old fashion virtues and a wholesome attitude for life. I know I will miss her, but yet I know she is now walking side by side with Our Lord, in Heaven.
