Obituary of Josephine Handy

Mrs. Josephine Handy, 69, of Old Trail Road, Fonda, New York passed away Monday at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born on February 13, 1938 in Londonderry, Northern Ireland she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Bridget Malloy McIntyre. She lived in Ireland until meeting her future husband, moving to the United States in December of 1962. Mrs. Handy was a homemaker and enjoyed baby sitting for many years. She loved her family deeply, and will be missed by all who knew her. Her loving family includes her husband Lester Handy, whom she married on May 23, 1962; her children, Paula Smith and her husband William, and Kevin Handy and his wife Christine, all of Tribes Hill, NY; four grandchildren, Erin, Kaitlynn, Shane and Tyler; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by five brothers and three sisters, and their families residing in Ireland. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 6p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, with the Rev. Pascal Iannotti officiating. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 5 until 6. Interment will take place in the spring in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill.
