Obituary of Betty E. Timmerman
Mrs. Betty E. Yost Timmerman, age 84, of Mayfield, died Friday morning, March 30, 2007 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, following a long illness.
She was born on October 28, 1922 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Arthur and Mildred Sweet Yost. Betty worked at the former Mohican Market in Gloversville, performed private during nursing in homes in the area, and was employed at Grandoe Glove Company for about 13 years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and knitting.
Betty was married to Charles B. Timmerman, Sr. who died October 12, 1982. She is survived by two children, Darla A. Andrews Joseph A. of Gloversville and Richard B. Timmerman Deborah of St. Albans, VT;six brothers, Alan Yost of Florida, Leland Yost and Larry Yost of Mayfield, Gerald Yost and Merle Yost of Gloversville and John Yost of North Carolina; two sisters, Grace Thompson and Nancy Waffle of Gloversville; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty was also preceded in death by two children, Charles B. Timmerman, Jr. and Shirley Almy; two sisters, Virginia Yost and Jean Whitehouse; and three brothers, Arthur, Robert and Harold Yost.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 12 noon to 2 pm Monday, April 2nd at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville. A private graveside service will be held later in the spring at Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield, with the Rev. Dr. R. W. Williams officiating.
