Obituary of Margie Chislet

Mrs. Margie Bunn Chislet, age 91 of Gloversville, died peacefully on April 5, 2007 at the Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown, with her family at her side. She was born April 4, 1916 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Robertson Bunn. A 1934 graduate of Gloversville High School, she also attended Amsterdam School of Commerce where she majored in accounting and business management. For 32 years she was a bookkeeper at the former Ted Thorne Lumber Company in Gloversville. She was later employed by C. J. Bachner Gloves until her retirement in 1985. Mrs. Chislet was a member of the North Main Street United Methodist Church for more than 70 years. On November 23, 1936 she married Clarence W. ?Scoop? Chislet who died February 16, 1994. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia J. Seeley Irwin; two grandchildren, Valerie Dutcher Michael and Brian Seeley Jeanette; and two great-grandchildren, Kristin and Eric Dutcher and a niece, Beverly Thorne Green. She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Bunn Payne and her half-brother, Harold ?Ted? Thorne. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 pm Saturday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 5 pm with the Rev. Christopher Hamm officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the North Main St. United Methodist Church, 316 N. Main St; Gloversville, NY 12078.
