Obituary of Michael J. Thompson

Michael J. Thompson, 48, of Gloversville, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2007 at St. Peter?s Community Hospice in Albany. He was born in New York City on September 7, 1958 son of James Thompson and the late Mary Mustagog Thompson. Michael was raised and attended school in the Amsterdam area. He worked as a printer in Amsterdam and most recently as a chauffer in the Gloversville area where he resided. Michael was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended churches in the area. Besides his mother, Michael was predeceased by a brother, Patrick Thompson and a sister, Kathleen Greco. He is survived by his former wife, Laura Thompson of Clearwater, FL, two daughters, Theresa and Nicole Thompson, both of Queens, three brothers, James Thompson of St. Augustine Beach, FL, Daniel Thompson of Amsterdam and William Thompson of Amsterdam, six sisters, Nora Sciochetti of Middleburg, Mary Thompson of Bangor, ME, Joan Mancini of Amsterdam, Eileen Thompson of Las Vegas, NV, Judith Thompson of Florida and Linda Werner of Amsterdam, and an aunt, Patricia Spina of Amityville. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A prayer service will be at 6:00PM on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010 with Fr. David Mickiewicz, conducting. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the funeral home. Donations in Michael?s memory may be made to a charity of one?s choice.
