Obituary of Edgar M. Grandy

Edgar M. Grandy, 92, of Auriesville Road, Fultonville passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born on January 25, 1915 in Glen, NY he was the son of the late Harley and Lillian Quandt Grandy. He was a lifelong area resident of the Glen area and attended local schools. Mr. Grandy owned and operated his family farm for many years. Prior to farming, Mr. Grandy worked for the Montgomery County Highway Department for some time. He was a member of the Glen Reformed Church. He married the former Velma Snyder in Glen in July of 1937. His loving family includes his wife, Velma of Fultonville, two daughters, Donna Jackson and her husband John of Johnstown and Ruth Lohmeyer of Amsterdam; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Grandy was predeceased by his brother, Virgil Grandy. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY 12072 with Rev. Stacey Midge of the Glen Reformed Church officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 12:00 noon to 1:00PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
