Obituary of Helen Keneally
Helen Keneally passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007.
She was born in Gloversville September 5, 1914, daughter of Edward and Clara Phalen. Mrs. Keneally was a 1932 graduate of Gloversville High School. She then attended the Gloversville Business School where she graduated with honors in 1933. She was an executive secretary with Schine Theaters for many years and then was a secretary in the Gloversville School System until her retirement in 1978.
She was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. She was a member of its Rosary Society and served as President for one year.
She was a Eucharistic Minister for the homebound. She was an avid bridge player and played in many area bridge clubs. She also served as an Election Inspector in Gloversville.
She was married to Blake G. Keneally, who was from Long Island, on May 17, 1952 at Sacred Heart Church. Father Anthony B. Kruegler, Pastor, officiated. She was predeceased by her husband, who died in 1965 and two sisters, Charlotte Winager and Mildred Donnelly.
Survivors include one daughter, Claire Keneally of Tampa, Florida and two nieces, Sheila Wotzak of Guilderland and Marie Ginter of Deland, Florida
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Wednesday at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church with Reverend Donald Czelusniak, Pastor, as celebrant. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, 149 S. Main St. Gloversville.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street. Gloversville.
