Obituary of Mildred I. Vunk

Mildred Irene Reynolds Vunk, 88, of East St. Fonda, NY died suddenly Thursday May 3, 2007 in Fonda NY. Born in the Town of Glen, NY on August 25, 1918 a daughter of Ernest and Mabel Wood Reynolds. She was a lifelong Fonda and Fultonville area resident and was a graduate of the former Fultonville High School. Mrs. Vunk was co-owner of the Vunk Farm of Fultonville and later worked as a cashier for over 20 years at the former Philbrook?s Market also in Fultonville. She also worked as a home health aid from 1976 to 1991. She married Clifford W. Vunk on June 29, 1938, he passed away on September 17, 1975. Survivor?s include, one son, Everett Vunk of Schenectady. Daughter-in-law, Marlene Vunk of Fonda. Three grandchildren, Steven Vunk of Amsterdam, Susan Vunk Conlin and Sharon Vunk Kasza of Fonda. Four great-granddaughters, Megan & Lindsey Conlin, Jenna & Jamie Kasza. Her siblings, Florence R. Minch of Tribes Hill, NY, Alice R. Kane of Florida, Orvetta R. Pedrick of Broadalbin, Edith R. Woodbeck of Minaville, Leon and Howard Reynolds of Fonda. Also surviving are in-laws as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Mildred was pre-deceased by two sons, Harold C. Vunk in 1973 and her infant son, Ernest Wayne Vunk in 1943. She was also pre-deceased by her brothers, Virgil, Edward and Robert Reynolds as well as her sisters, Leona and Beatrice. Burial services will be held in Maple Ave Cemetery, Fultonville, NY at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fonda Frothingham Free Library, P.O.
