Obituary of Marie C. Lampkin

Mrs. Marie C. Lampkin, 96 years old, formerly of Bullshead Road, died Monday at Mt. Loretto Nursing Home. She was born March 9, 1911 in the Town of Florida, the daughter of Edward and Sophie Heitkamp Auspelmyer, and was a life long area resident. Mrs. Lampkin attended the former Snook?s Corners School. She was a homemaker and helped on the family farm. Mrs. Lampkin was a member of St. Luke?s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She loved to crotchet, bake and spend her winters in Florida. On October 10, 1928 she married Melvin C. Lampkin, Sr., who died June 15, 1975. Mrs. Lampkin is survived by three sons; William M. Lampkin and his wife, Barbara, of Ft. Hunter, NY, Melvin C. Bunny Lampkin and his wife Thelma, of Town of Florida, and Everette G. Lampkin and his wife Eldean, of Palm Bay, Florida, and her daughter; Mildred Hitchcock of Town of Florida. 20 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon on Thursday at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, with The Rev. John Califano officiating. Burial is in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5 until 8:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made: St. Luke?s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 24 Pine Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 and to Mt. Loretto Nursing Home, 302 Swart Hill Road, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
