Obituary of Lita M. Hutchins

Lita M. Hutchins, 78, of Fonda, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at Mountain Valley Hospice House in Gloversville. She was born September 29, 1928 in Ames, NY a daughter of the late Herbert and Hazel Backus Wessell. Lita attended Canajoharie High School and worked at Lowenstein?s Leather Mill for several years. She was an active member of Fonda Reformed Church. She married Andrew R. Hutchins in Fort Plain on February 7, 1953. Lita enjoyed puzzle books and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Lita was predeceased by two daughters, Deanna VanAvery and Donna VanAvery, a brother, James Wessell, and a great granddaughter, Kaylee Dumar. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Andrew Hutchins of Fonda, two daughters, Carol VanAvery of Fort Plain and Hope Douglas Williams of Fultonville, three sons, Daniel Gayle VanAvery, Sr. of Albany Township, ME, Robert Linda Hutchins of Middleville, and Jeffrey Darlene Hutchins of Syracuse, and one brother, Charles Wessell of Naples, ME. Fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, one nephew and several cousins also survive. A Funeral Service will be at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Fonda Reformed Church with Rev. Christopher DeGraff officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, May, 18 at Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY.
