Obituary of Emily Vickers

Emily Vickers, 89, formerly of County Hwy 107, Perth, New York passed away Wednesday morning May 23, 2007 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home in Gloversville, New York. Mrs. Vickers was born in Amsterdam, New York on May 1, 1918 a daughter of Jerry and Anna Dreaney. She attended Amsterdam schools. Mrs. Vickers has lived in Perth since 1942. She was employed at Mohasco Industries in Amsterdam and later worked at the former Coleco Industries until her retirement in 1980. Mrs. Vickers was a member of the Perth Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Perth Seniors. Emily enjoyed spending time with family and loved to cook. She also enjoyed crafts, canning and flowers. She married Perry A. Vickers, Sr. on March 8, 1942; he passed away on July 5, 1998. Survivors include one son, Perry A. Vickers Jr. and his wife Joan of Perth, New York; two grandsons, Perry ?Judd? A. Vickers IV of Perth, NewYork and Mark W. Vickers of Perth, New York and two great-granddaughters, Kassandra and Giovanna Vickers. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by her siblings: Norma LaGreca, Frank Dreaney, Kenneth Dreaney and Jerry Dreaney. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 11:00AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, with the Rev. Greg DeSalvatore presiding. Interment will be in Perth Cemetery, Perth, New York. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 25, 2007 from 5:00 to 7:00PM at the funeral home. A legacy Candle Ceremony will be held on Friday at 6:45PM. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one?s choice.
