Obituary of Rose F. Wilde
Rose F. Wilde, 91, of Queen Anne Road, Amsterdam passed away peacefully Saturday, June 2, 2007 at E.L. Wilkinson RHCF in Amsterdam. She was born in Schenectady on July 19, 1915 daughter of the late Harold and Laura Sorenson Fobian.
Rose was a life resident of the Amsterdam area. She graduated from the Amsterdam City Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. She worked as the director of the OBGYN unit at Amsterdam City Hospital. During and following her employment, Rose worked as a private duty nurse for many friends and relatives in the area. Following the opening of Amsterdam Memorial Hospital, she worked in the surgical unit before her retirement. She married William A. Wilde, Jr. on July 13, 1941 at the Baptist Church in Amsterdam. He predeceased her in September of 2000.
Rose was a member and communicant of St. Luke?s Lutheran Church, the Amsterdam City Hospital Alumni Association, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Amsterdam Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and the Daughters of the King Bible Class at St. Luke?s. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and many friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Rose was predeceased by one brother and three sisters.
She is survived by a son, William A. Quirina Wilde of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, two daughters, Ruth Elizabeth Anderson of Scarborough, ME, and Rosemary Thomas Wolocen of Amsterdam, five grandchildren, Elizabeth Burdick, Hayden Anderson, Erika January, Phillip Anderson, and Michael Wilde, and six great-grandchildren, William, Isabel and Oliver Burdick, Keira and Matthew January and Melissa Wilde. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with Rev. John Califano pastor of St. Luke?s Lutheran Church officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam. Donations in Rose?s memory may be made to Fairview Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 213, Hagaman, NY 12086, G.A.V.A.C., P.O.
