Obituary of Lydia Konn
Mrs. Lydia K. Konn, 87, formerly of Ridge Road, Canajoharie, died early Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at the Folts Home in Herkimer. Born on August 20, 1917 in Newark, NJ she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Wincenta Dowgeil Kodz. She has been an area resident since the 1940?s and was educated at Holland Patent.
Mrs. Konn was employed as a seamstress and worked for Luxuray in Ft. Plain for many years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Peter & Paul?s Roman Catholic Church, and was involved in many activities. She also was a member of the Thursday Night Bowling League and The Canajoharie Fire Department Auxiliary.
On November 18, 1939 she was united in marriage to Andrew Konn. That union lasted nearly 64 years until his passing on June 5, 2003.
Survivors include one son, Richard T. Konn and his wife Margaret of Palm Desert, CA; one sister, Veronica Gogel of Richfield Springs, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 11, 2007 at 9:15a.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10a.m. at St. Peter & Paul?s Roman Catholic Church, Cliff Street with the Rev. William Gaffigan as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul?s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 3 until 5 Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
