Obituary of Nancy Pamadora
Nancy Pamadora, 92, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Amsterdam November 3, 1914 daughter of the late Martin and Rose Favorito Salamack.
Nancy attended grade school in Amsterdam for a few years before relocating to Brooklyn where she attended schools there. She came back to the Amsterdam area while in her early twenties to settle in the area again until recently. She worked in the glove shop in the east end of Amsterdam for several years before going to work for SUNY Albany until her retirement. She married Charles Pamadora on January 9, 1944 at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Amsterdam. He predeceased her in 1996.
Nancy was a member and communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Rosary Altar Society, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Columbian Auxiliary and Community Seniors. She enjoyed cooking, especially baking cookies. Even recently, Nancy would be seen with her magnifying glass looking for new recipes to add to her collection. She enjoyed taking care of her plants, playing cards, sewing and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and even had the chance to spend time with her first great-grandchild, Charlie, who was named after her late husband. She enjoyed her many supportive friends at Holland Gardens where she resided before moving to Saratoga Springs recently to live with her daughter. Nancy?s Catholic faith played a major role in her life. She believed faith and prayer helped her to pull through major ailments in her health during her life. Saying the rosary and watching mass on television, daily, was an integral part of her life.
Besides her parents and husband, Nancy was predeceased by four brothers, Dominick, Barney, John and Anthony.
She is survived by a son, Sal Claudia Pamadora of Albany, a daughter, Mary Rose Frank Turo of Saratoga Springs, six grandchildren, Andrea and Drue Pamadora both of Albany, Jena Joe Pedroli of Charlotte, NC, Mia Turo of Baltimore, MD, and Frank and Peter Turo both of Saratoga Springs, a great-grandchild, Charles Joseph Pedroli of Charlotte, NC, and two sisters-in-law, Rose Salamack and Christina Giglotti. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
