Obituary of Geraldine Tomasello
Geraldine ?Geri? Mary Tomasello, 72, of West Palm Aire Drive, Pompano Beach, Florida, passed away Friday afternoon at the Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with her loving husband and children at her side.
Born July 10, 1934 in Amsterdam, New York, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Ann Caliendo Rinaldi. She was a 1952 graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
Geri?s husband was in the U.S. Army and they lived throughout the world for many years, until settling in Florida in 1972.
She was employed as a secretary for the Systems Engineering Gould and Sundown Vitamins, and was also a fifteen- year Hospice Volunteer in Fort Lauderdale.
Geri touched the lives of so many through her strong faith and love of God. She was a communicant of San Isidro Roman Catholic Church in Pompano Beach.
Her favorite pass times were going out to restaurants, shopping, throwing parties in their home, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Survived by Geri are her loving husband of 54 years, Dominick Tomasello, whom she married on April 12, 1953, a son G. Scott Tomasello of Delray, Florida; a daughter, Laura Tomasello of Boynton Beach, Florida; a grandson, Anthony Scott Tomasello of Delray Beach, Florida; two sisters, Phyllis Marotta of Amsterdam, New York and Rachel Hackert of Albany, New York; a cousin, Doreen Romeo of Toronto, Canada, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Edith Caprara.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 29, 2007, at 9:15 AM at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Grove Street, Amsterdam, New York, followed by her burial in the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Amsterdam. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 to 7 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY.
