To All, How sincerely saddened I am to hear of Mr. Travis?s death and know that you all once again grieve for a member of your family. In reading his obituary it was surprising and enlightening for me. I was surprised at how quickly tears came to my eyes and how significantly touched I was by the news of his passing. Enlightened because I never really knew what Mr. T did for a living. Thirty + years ago you could have told me he was a Top Presidential Advisor, or an Admiral and I would have believed you, clearly for me, this was a man who was certainly of great importance. The greatest gift he ever gave to me was a ride. Mr. T invited me to accompany him on a little road trip down to the Island, just he and I. I can?t remember what we spoke of, what the weather was like, or if there was a lot of traffic that day. What I can remember which I had all but forgotten was the sense of acceptance that little ride gave me. After all this was H.O. the head of the family, sharing his space and time with me. It?s funny what we remember. Hum.. now I wonder if his memory would be something like, ?How did I ever get talked in to a 5 hour car ride with a chatty teenager?. Tee-hee
