Obituary of Ruth M. Bellman
Ruth M. Bellman, 91, of Maple Avenue, Canajoharie, died Monday, July 2, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam after a long illness.
Born on March 5, 1916 in Buel, NY she was the daughter of the late Earl and Grace Kougher Bellman. She was a L.P.N. in Albany, and did private duty, until coming to Canajoharie to live and care for her ageing father. She then moved to Springfield Center to care for a dear friend until her passing. Eleven years ago she moved in with her sister and family on Maple Avenue.
Ruth was a member of the Springfield Center Baptist Church, but faithfully attended the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ames when she moved to Canajoharie. She will be remembered as a person centered in faith and as a caregiver, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Her loving family includes, her sister Mildred B. Voss and her husband Paul; one niece, Karen R. Voss, all of Canajoharie; two nephews, Reginald Hartley of Marble Head, MA and Kevin Hartley of Georgia; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 5, 2007 Today at 1p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie. Interment will follow in the Ft. Plain Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 12 until 1. Following all services, a reception of Christian fellowship and refreshments will be held at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ames. Memorial contributions may be made to the Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Department or to Mid- County Ambulance.
