Obituary of Robert Eugene Clark
Town of Galway, New York?Robert E. Clark, 70, of Crooked Street, passed away Thursday afternoon at his home with his loving family at his side.
Born March 21, 1937, in Amsterdam, New York, he was the son of the late Harold and Pearl Clark. He was a 1955 graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam, and shortly after his graduation he entered the US Army and was stationed in Germany.
Bob was first employed at the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance and in 1965 started working for General Electric Co. in Schenectady for 23 years until retiring in 1985. He loved being a volunteer and EMT for the Galway Volunteer Ambulance Corps for 20 years. Bob loved his music and was a professional musician and played bass and sang with Tony Brooks and other musicians. He was also a member of the Musicians Union.
He was of the Methodist faith.
On March 1, 1960, he married the former Carol A. Mazur. Besides his devoted wife he is survived by his loving family, five sons; K. Buddy Clark, Bryan Clark, Gary Clark and David Clark all of Galway and Robert Clark of Amsterdam; a sister; Doris Checksfield of Amsterdam; 15 Grandchildren, one great granddaughter and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Bob was predeceased by his sister Elaine Barkley.
Funeral services will be held at a later date at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, New York 12010. Cremation has taken place at Vale Crematory in Amsterdam.
