Obituary of Gladys Cross

Mrs. Gladys Cross, 102, of Arkell Hall, Canajoharie, passed away Monday, July 20, 2007 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born on July 7, 1905 she was the daughter of the late Bertram and Bertha Hillsinger Miers. Mrs. Cross was very active all of her life and was a homemaker. She enjoyed word games, flowers, nature, birds and gardening. Most of all she loved her family and her faith, and will be missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip Cross, her sister, Lelah Shafer and a son in law, Donald Whitehead. Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Whitehead of Latham, NY; two granddaughters, Donna Salin and her husband Dale of Florida and Lorilee Mallgraf and her husband Edward of Loudonville; two great grandchildren, Jason Lacy and Shannon Lacy, both of Florida and one great great-grandson Jack Lacy and her extended family at Arkell Hall. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 3rd, at 11a.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie. Interment will follow in the Carlisle Rural Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 10 until 11 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church of Cobleskill, in care of the funeral home.
