Obituary of Florence V. Botaitis
Florence V. Botaitis, 84 years old of Church Street, died Tuesday at River Ridge Living Center, where she had been a patient for several years. She was born April 7, 1923 in Amsterdam, a daughter of Michael and Anna Ziemba Zakowski. Mrs. Botaitis was a life long resident of Amsterdam and a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She had been employed as a cashier for P&C Market and then Carl?s Drug Store. Mrs. Botaitis was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church and was a member of its Paderewski Choir. She loved the time spent with her family and was an avid fan of the N.Y. Yankees.
On October 25, 1952 she married Edward Botaitis. He died January 19, 1998. Mrs. Botaitis is survived by her daughters; Anna Susan Clough, Donna Rembert and Nancy Botaitis all of Amsterdam; 6 grandchildren; Janel Clough, Lynx Rembert, Zachariah and Larissa Czerw, Jacob and Dillon Reinhart; 4 great grandchildren; A.J. Senese, Shadow Maines, Storm and Echo Samson; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 3 sisters, her brother and her special grandson Joshua Clough.
Funeral services will be held 8:45am Friday at Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30am at St. Stanislaus Church, celebrated by The Rev. David Wm. Mickiewicz. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5 until 7:00pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made: SPCA or St. Jude?s Childrens Hospital.
